How to Follow Maryland Legislation

The web has made it much easier for the “average citizen” to follow legislation in Maryland. Here is how to find a bill if you know the bill number:

1. Go to the Maryland General Assembly’s website
   
   
2. The second button on this page links to “Bill Information and Status”. Click that.
   
   
3. Enter the bill number – don’t forget to state whether it is a House Bill (for example, “HB1234”) or a Senate Bill (“SB123”). Click Submit Query.
   
   
4. This will bring up the bill summary. There, you can find its status or click on the bill number to see the full language of the bill.
